UApHC YEAR END AWARDS PROGRAM

 

This is the UApHC Year Ends Awards program and how a member can earn these awards. We have a diverse group of members within our club. Some members strictly show in ApHC approved shows, some members strictly show in open breed shows and some members participate in both. These awards are designed to recognize the efforts of our members (and their horses) who enhance and promote the image of the appaloosa horse. Here is a list of awards and how to obtain them:

 

The following classes are for UApHC members with registered appaloosas only. Points must be accumulated by competing in Appaloosa Breed Shows.

 

 

YOUTH DIVISION:

UApHC Hi Point Youth 14 to 18 – This award is giving to any youth member obtaining the most points in youth classes. Both Halter & Performance classes are included in this award.

 

UApHC Hi Point Youth 13 & Under – This award is giving to any youth member obtaining the most points in youth classes. Both Halter & Performance classes are included in this award.

 

PERFORMANCE DIVISION:

UApHC Hi Point Novice Non Pro – This award is given any novice non-pro member obtaining the most points in Novice Non-Pro Riding Classes.

 

UApHC Hi Point Open & Non Pro Western Performance – This award is given to the member who has earned the most points in any of the following classes:

Western Pleasure

Western Equitation

Western Riding

Trail

Bareback Equitation

 

  

UApHC Hi Point Open & Non Pro Working Performance - This award is given to the member who has earned the most points in any of the following classes:

Reining

Working Cow Horse

Cutting

Steer Daubing

Team Penning

Roping Classes

 

UApHC Hi Point Open & Non Pro Games - This award is given to the member who has earned the most points in any of the following classes:

Nez Perce Stake Race (poles)

Camas Prairie Stump Race (barrels)

Figure 8 Stake Race

Keyhole

 

UApHC Hi Point Open & Non Pro English Performance - This award is given to the member who has earned the most points in any of the following classes:

Hunter Under Saddle

Hunt Seat Equitation

Hunter Hack

Saddle Seat Pleasure

Saddle Seat Equitation

Working Hunter

Green Hunter

Pleasure Driving

Dressage

 

UApHC Hi Point Open & Non Pro English Performance Jumping - This award is given to the member who has earned the most points in any of the following classes:

Jumping

Hunt Seat Equitation Over Fences

Preliminary Jumping

3-Day Eventing

 

HALTER DIVISION:

UApHC Hi Point Open Halter – There will be a separate award for Stallion, Gelding, Mare and Weanlings. These classes pertain to all stallions, mares, and geldings of any age and includes Hunter in Hand. These awards are given to the member who has earned the most points in their respective halter class.

UApHC Hi Point Non Pro Halter – There will be a separate award for Stallion, Gelding, Mare. These classes pertain to all stallions, mares, and geldings of any age and includes Hunter in Hand. These awards are given to the member who has earned the most points in their respective halter class. Novice points are not allowed.

 

UApHC Overall Hi Point Performance  – This award is given any member obtaining the most points in any Riding Classes. This includes all open, non-pro & novice non pro classes.

 

UApHC Overall Hi Point Halter – This award is given to the member obtaining the most points in any Halter Class. This includes all open, non-pro classes.

 

Distance Award – This award is given to any member who has logged the most miles while trail riding & participating in parades. Members who participate in either ApHC or Appaloosa Regional Club Sponsored trail rides or parades will have those miles doubled. Competitive/ Judged Trail Rides & Endurance count for this award.

 

Volunteer Award – This award is given to any member who has volunteered their services, time or effort in promoting the growth and development of the UApHC. To obtain this award a member must turn in the number of hours that were volunteered to the UApHC within the current award season. The member with the most points earned will receive the award. This is how volunteer points are earned:

* One point for one hour of service.

 

 

 

 

The following awards are for UApHC members with registered appaloosas earning the most points in Open All Breed competitions.

 

In order to be eligible to receive an Open All Breed award the UApHC member must buy in to the UApHC Open All Breed Awards Program. The buy in is for each horse and not the rider. The buy in fee is $20 per horse for the first division and $10 for each division after that. All money paid into the awards program goes directly into the awards for the buy in classes.

 

Western Performance – This award is given to the member who has earned the most points in any of the following classes:

Western Pleasure

Western Equitation

Western Riding

Trail

Bareback Equitation

  

Working Performance - This award is given to the member who has earned the most points in any of the following classes:

Reining

Working Cow Horse

Cutting

Steer Daubing

Team Penning

Roping Classes

 

Games - This award is given to the member who has earned the most points in any of the following classes:

Nez Perce Stake Race (poles)

English Performance - This award is given to the member who has earned the most points in any of the following classes:

Hunter Under Saddle

Hunt Seat Equitation

Hunter Hack

Saddle Seat Pleasure

Saddle Seat Equitation

Working Hunter

Green Hunter

Pleasure Driving

Dressage

 

English Performance Jumping - This award is given to the member who has earned the most points in any of the following classes:

Jumping

Hunt Seat Equitation Over Fences

Preliminary Jumping

3-Day Eventing

 

 

If there are no members who qualify for any of the awards then no award will be given for that category that year.

 

The Awards season runs from Nov 1st – Oct 31st of each year. All points earned must be given to the point’s keeper within one month of each show.

Points will be tabulated using the National Point System. The Point System is listed in section 701-A (page 141) of the 2008 Appaloosa Handbook.

 

Grand Champion at halter will be awarded 2 points

 

Reserve Grand Champion at halter will be awarded 1 point.

 

 

Points for the Volunteer Award: for every hour volunteered 1 point will be given.
